Is this extreme pettiness from a Man Utd fan?

What follows is a question that i answered and received a violation for, in light of some of the answers scripted here, is this justified. Man Utd fans reply also please.

Deleted Answer: Holy God that is complete c**p, 5 Man Utd players and 8 Premiership players!? You do realise that other countries have leagues apart from England. You must be on medication to put Gary Neville in, When did Rio Ferdinand become a footballer, Is Hargreaves 'Roger' because it surely couldn't be Owen, Wayne Rooney, 8 league goals this season, pretty sensational, NOT! Crawl back under your Man United coloured stone.

I understand the sentiments in your answer entirely, and the questionner was surely leaving themselves open to your sort of answer.



I think it's your 1st and last sentences that prob caused offence, and if you think about it, they don't help to answer the question any more than your entirely valid comments in the middle But they do indicate that a) you were angry when you wrote them (I can almost see your "opposition supporter scowl" as you were typing) and b) that you wished to voice an insult to all Man. U. fans.



So I can see both sides here....



I wouldn't have reported your answer as insulting, but your answer didn't need your extra venom, if you think about the rational for this forum, which is to be friendly.Is this extreme pettiness from a Man Utd fan?

and yes iv had a few digs at newcastle but only in fun im never mean or nasty about it and if my team was in the same boat as newcastle i would expect the banter in return

Man U fans can only dish it out, they can't take criticism of their team. I had one of my questions removed too by a Man U fan.



I told some Everton fan he was mentally ill for saying that Phil Neville was gonna get a hattrick vs Liverpool and he didn't report me.
What`s wrong with capaz de todo`s answer, it made sense to me.

Truth is, you were a little insulting and a further truth is that you never know who reports you, so why presume it was a Man U fan?

There are such saddos on here who, i believe, trawl through answers just to report others, they are a bit like traffic wardens but aren`t accountable to anyone.

Don`t get me wrong, i wouldn`t have reported you, in fact i think i have reported only a couple of people in months of being on here. That wasn`t in the football section either, it was very racist stuff from a user who keeps getting suspended.

I also know that some people have multiple accounts, so if you do insult them they can report you twice, (i`m sure you know you need two to report before you get a violation).

How bad is it though really, everyone gets violations for very petty infringements, like chatting or not answering the question, it`s just part of YA, and i`m sure most people feel a sense of injustice but you just have to accept it.



Also, for what it`s worth, i agree with the questioner who put those Man U players in their dream team but i would have had Vidic in there instead of Terry!
I think there is some accurate critique of the list. However, in comparison to some of the overt racism %26amp; hatred I've seen on some of these pages - the commentator has not (in my opinion) gone anywhere near the levels of vitriol I've witnessed. If anything it's a bit mild. Have a look at the regular "Cricket vs Baseball" or "Rugby vs American football" threads.



The only caveat I'll offer is if the original list had been submitted by a child or young adolescent. The internet can be a wonderful community - but to use this language and scathing tone to someone of a young age could be deemed offensive.

It is petty, I agree with you. If the glory hunters want to turn this thread into a Man U only site it won't happen. We need the contributions from fans of other teams.

My team (Newcastle) is getting a lot of stick, but I don't report contributors for it!
i can see capaz de todos point but at the same time these manuRE fans just set themselves up for this kind of answer.i totally agree with your answer but i would have included my own list of players.
It is a correct violation, as you DID insult the questioner and shot him down for having an opinion, basically.

That didn't answer the question, that was just rude. I don't blame the person who deleted you. And yes, I am a United fan. People on here need to realise the difference between banter and just plain meanness. You should at least have given a different selection of players to back up your opinion. You just slagged off all the United players and ignored everyone who wasn't a United player. Pettiness?

My answer is narrow minded? You just asked if your violation was justified and I said in my opinion it was. I never said I would have reported you, in fact, I wouldn't. As other people have pointed out, how do you even know it was a United fan who reported you? It could just have been someone with an intense disliking for rude people.

You were wondering why it was reported. No offence, but if you begin your answer with 'Holy God that is complete c**p' you will not be respected and people will not take you seriously. Your answer was riddled with sarcasm and you sounded like an immature child. I'm not claiming to be mature here, I most certainly am not, I'm probably one of the younger users in this section, and the fact that I'm female doesn't get me respect either, due to those combined facts I've had to learn to know how to answer properly to be taken seriously by even one other user, so let me tell you: That is not how you answer.

If it'd been me i wouldn't have picked a scouser no matter how good they were.

As for the prem, well, half the teams in the champions league Qtr finals are premiership sides, so surely they have one or two half-decent players.
well if you were to post your dream team, instead of picking holes in the answerers we would have something to go on, personally i don't think torres could play with ronaldo, it would cramp his style, i would play someone like tevez.
