I'm in my second year of sixth form doing Graphics. I have written a contextual study that details how illustration has changed in the last couple of centuries with regards to childrens narratives and stories, so I have included research based upon the likes of John Tenniel "Alice in Wonderland", Quentin Blake "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", Beatrix Potter "Peter Rabbit", Roger Hargreaves "Mr Men", and others.
The problem I have is writing up the conclusion. I can't just leave it as it is because it would then just simply be artist research, but I have no idea how i would be able to round off this kind of contextual study. Does anybody have any clue as to how I can "tie up loose ends"? Thanks in advance :)|||It's the hardest part, of course! I wonder if you have also discussed how the stories are actually told? By which I mean the vocabulary, complexity of grammar etc? Does the same thing apply to the sophistication of the illustrations?
How long does your conclusion have to be? A whole paragraph or a long sentence? I would suggest that your conclusion should include a summing-up of the differences in the eras you have studied and the attitudes of adults towards children then, and the attitudes now.

Gift giving guide lines....?
Hi. Today, one of my friends who happens to be a girl gave me a small gift, which was one of those books titled like, "Mr. Strong, " by Roger Hargreaves. I have gotten to know her pretty well and I was grateful of the small gesture, but the thing is though that we didn't even talk about exchanging gifts. The other thing is that she gave like 4 of her other friends in my class the same type of book. Now later, I texted her and asked her if the gift had any meaning pertaining to me, being why did she choose the book entitled "Mr. Tickle," to which she replied, "There weren't that many at borders." Now, I have a couple questions: One, does this gift mean anything, because I am assuming it doesn't, or is my friend just trying to keep me from knowing its' true meaning? And two, am I now obligated to give my friend a gift now? Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks.|||Yeah, you had better give your friend a gift whether there is some other meaning or not.

Has anyone read Cocky's Circle, Little Books?
I use to love them as a small child, and I still do. I still keep my small collection of them and my favourite would have to be 'Times and Rhymes.'-Those nursery rhymes are so clever! They're are a little bit bigger than the Mr. Men series by Roger Hargreaves.- I love those too! It just so happens that I've spent my younger years reading the Little Books. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? You know, those little books...they all had a different story and you could sometimes find them near the checkout at Franklins or Woolworths...
'Five o'clock watch out you'll fall. Who do we know who sat on a wall?'- Times and Rhymes.|||lol yes my parents bought them for me when i was very young and i have about 150. i just cant bring myself to throwing them away :P
and yeah i lovve that one 2.

(Which I normally wouldn't advize, but doing that helps when your animating with alot of people) This developed as a very static animation as opposed to the squach and stretch stuff of disney and chuck jones. Cartooning should be intuitive, imitate who's work you enjoy but when you reach a wall, solve it yourself. There are no rules in cartoons!

Where can I find Mr Men t-shirts in Brisbane?
I'm talking about those popular t-shirts with those kiddy characters by Roger Hargreaves on them, e.g. Mr Worry, Little Miss Chatterbox, etc. I'm hoping to get one for my little brother.
I see a lot of people wearing them at uni and around the mall.|||I work at Target (in Melbourne) and we sell Mr Men and Little Miss T-Shirts. I know for certain, cos I'm a registers guy and have served people buying them.
They're usually a little more expensive than the other tops because they are licensed products

What is your favourite Mr Men or Little Miss character and why?
May 9th marks the birthday of famed author and illustrator, Roger Hargreaves, born in 1935.
He is most famous for the Mr Men and Little Miss series, writing and illustrating well over 100 books by the time of his death in 1988.
In celebration of his birthday, we'd love to know which Mr Men or Little Miss character is your favourite and why!|||I find them all adorable in their different ways, it's hard to choose just one!
Mr Bump is my favorite shade of blue and I like the bandanges. I feel a bit sorry for him, but then realise he's used to the constant mishaps by now.
I also like how Mr Messy is the only one who has no definite shape - he's just a mess of magenta scribbles, and funny how he makes everything dirty and disorganized without really noticing.
Mr Tickle is awesome - long floppy arms for the sole purpose of sneakily tickling random people. I also like his hat. He is so sweet too, he just wants to make everyone laugh!
Little Miss Shy is the one I can relate to most,
and Mr Quiet is so cute.
I actually didn't know much about this series until now. I love it!|||Mr Grumble...he is Jerry Seinfeld

╚Greetings
I have many favorite characters, here I will list them in order.
MR RUDE: Makes me laugh at the way he behaves, the things he does and the things he says.
MR STUBBORN: Just as funny, especially how he refuses to believe anyone but himself when the answer is obvious.
MR SCATTERBRAIN: The way he interacts, and the things he says just tickles me.
MS HELPFUL: How she tries to help but creates calamity for all.
MS WHOOPS: Always make mistakes, very funny ones too.
MRS CALAMITY: The things that happens to her, the accidents and mishaps are quite bizarre.
MR PERNICKETY: Always so formal, clean and polite, all of these makes him quite funny and entertaining to watch.
Overall I find all the characters quite interesting and funny as they all have different personalities and end up adding different colors to the environment.
These are bases on "THE MR MEN SHOW" which is a television show series view on ABC for kids.

╚════════════════"It's more cool to be at school"═════════════════╝|||The first Mr.Men didn't come out until 1971, way past my time to be reading children's books, but way before most Answers users would have been born.
So probably few of us would have seen his books. They were written around his illustrations, cute rounded figures representing feelings and states, eg Mr.Lazy, Mr.Tickle, Mr Sneezy and so on.
Everyone can have a look at the range of illustrations on May 9, when Google will be celebrating Hargreaves' birthday by cycling 16 of the characters on their search page.
The illustrations are cute, with faces very similar to Smileys, so should be appealing to a new generation. But as I've not seen most of them, I can't say I have a favourite.|||Mr tickle with his long arms and fingers. My grade one primary school teacher who read my class all of his books in 1978 just recently retired after teaching at the school for over 30 years. All the books she read us were on display at the school celebration on her retirement, even the same MR MEN books and my favourite MR TICKLE. MY second favourite were the books by BILL PEET, they were awesome and she bought them along with her on that special day as well. The Mr Men show used to be on the ABC in the afternoon it used to be on after the famous five before Dr who started. That was about 1978/79 when i was 8yr old|||Actually I am not fond of this series of books. I think they encourage "stereotyping" in young developing minds. No one is happy, sad, etc. all the time. Just saying and don't expect anyone to agree with me, but it would be nice if someone else gave some thought to that.|||Well my fave is little miss sunshine because she is always so bright bubble and happy i believe if everybody had suck a positive outlook on life there wouldn't be so many abusers of drugs and alchole and there wouldnt be as much crime and criminals in the world as there is today :)|||I have a soft spot for Little Miss Naughty. I think almost every small child can relate to her mischievous moments. Does Google really need to change its logo for every birthday, celebration or religious holiday?
Today we have a celebration of the birthday of Roger Hargreaves, the creaotr of the Mr. Men/Little Miss stories. But is this necessary? And where was the logo change for the shooting of Bin Laden?|||I'm glad you said that, because I'm sick of it too. What started as quite a good idea is now stale and cheesey.
Google is too far up its own backside these days. Used to be good.|||Its called Google Doodles. Anybody can make and submit one and if yours would get picked it would be a great honor for an artist or graphic designer. As a graphic designer I would love to have a Google Doodle that I designed get picked, it would look great on a resume and portfolio and I thank Google for giving all artists the opportunity to do it. Now how Google picks the the days they will celebrate is a different question. There are hundreds of American poets, actors/actresses, musicians, athletes who have a birthday today, why they picked Roger Hargreaves over all the others is beyond me.
They probably didn't have time to design one on Bin Laden's death day, but probably next year they'll have one up. Of course he isn't dead, its all a government conspiracy I tells ya.|||No, it is not necessary, but it's creative and fun. There's nothing really wrong with it, because it doesn't interfere with your searches. And the reason why there is no logo for Bin Laden is because people have strong beliefs about that topic, and Google doesn't want to piss anyone off. They are just keeping it light and simple and fun.

Roger Hargreaves Mr. Men Books?
Can anyone email me with a good quality scan of any of the Mr. Men books? The reason I'm asking is there are no good quality pictures of the fronts of the books online, and I need a high quality image. Roger Hargreaves Little Miss Late?
Can anyone tell me in detail (or as much detail as there is in a children's book) everything that happens in the Little Miss Late books? If not, could you just tell me the ending? Please? It's an easy 2 points if you've read the book, and 10 if you give a nice detailed answer :)|||Little Miss Late is the eleventh book in the Little Miss series. Little Miss Late is late for everything, and can't find a job. She tries to work in a bank, but by the time she gets there, the bank has closed. She tries to be a secretary for Mr. Uppity, but he goes home late. The job she gets is as a housemaid for Mr. Lazy, because he does things at the wrong time.

Anyone collecting the GREEK series of the Mr Men childrens books by Roger Hargreaves?
I grew up with these books in Australia and recently started collecting them here in Greece for my daughter. My favourite is Mr.Grumpy, but there is a new one written by the author's son 'Mr Grumble'. I have Mr Grumble which in Greek is wrriten on the cover as "Kurios Grinyaris" as I thought Grinyaris was Grumpy, who does Mr Grumpy translate as then??|||Hi!! Oh that brings back so many memories! I used to LOVE those books when I was a kid, I grew up with them! =) Grinyaris is Mr. Grumble, like a Moaner basically, and out of knowledge I'd say Mr. Grumpy would be more of a moody word, like katsoufis or moutromenos, but it doesn't really sound right does it? Hehe...! Grumpiness is grinia though, so you have a point. Oh well, good luck finding it hope I helped! xx

Where can I find Mr Men t-shirts in Brisbane?
I'm talking about those popular t-shirts with those kiddy characters by Roger Hargreaves on them, e.g. Mr Worry, Little Miss Chatterbox, etc. I'm hoping to get one for my little brother.|||I know chaps (the mens clothing store) has them.|||jay jays has them in teenager sizes and kmart or target has a line of them.
What is the text font used in the Mr Men / Little Miss books by Roger Hargreaves? Is available to download?

Is this extreme pettiness from a Man Utd fan?
What follows is a question that i answered and received a violation for, in light of some of the answers scripted here, is this justified. Man Utd fans reply also please.
Question: Dream Team?
Question Details: who would your dream football team be : Gk : Buffon RB: G. Neville CB R . Ferdinand CB : Terry LB: Daniel Alves RM: C. Ronaldo DM: Hardgreaves AM:Messi LM: Ronaldinho ST: Torrres ST: Rooney
Deleted Answer: Holy God that is complete c**p, 5 Man Utd players and 8 Premiership players!? You do realise that other countries have leagues apart from England. You must be on medication to put Gary Neville in, When did Rio Ferdinand become a footballer, Is Hargreaves 'Roger' because it surely couldn't be Owen, Wayne Rooney, 8 league goals this season, pretty sensational, NOT! Crawl back under your Man United coloured stone.
Violation Reason:Insulting Other Participants|||Get used to it mate. Even the most trivial answer will get reported by your haters for pettyness.|||You got what you deserved|||I understand the sentiments in your answer entirely, and the questionner was surely leaving themselves open to your sort of answer.
I think it's your 1st and last sentences that prob caused offence, and if you think about it, they don't help to answer the question any more than your entirely valid comments in the middle But they do indicate that a) you were angry when you wrote them (I can almost see your "opposition supporter scowl" as you were typing) and b) that you wished to voice an insult to all Man. U. fans.
So I can see both sides here....
I wouldn't have reported your answer as insulting, but your answer didn't need your extra venom, if you think about the rational for this forum, which is to be friendly.|||i agree with bringmesunshine
and yes iv had a few digs at newcastle but only in fun im never mean or nasty about it and if my team was in the same boat as newcastle i would expect the banter in return
you could have worded it a little bit better then that tho|||yes were all like that though|||You would have gained a lot more credibility(and sympathy from me) if you'd replied with your own selection, instead of just ranting.
No, I don't support Man. United. I just have a sense of decency.
What's that you say? "Look at it objectively"? Was that a joke?|||It is from yo momma.|||he was right about C ronaldo tho he should be in any top ten for sure|||Man U fans can only dish it out, they can't take criticism of their team. I had one of my questions removed too by a Man U fan.
I told some Everton fan he was mentally ill for saying that Phil Neville was gonna get a hattrick vs Liverpool and he didn't report me.|||What`s wrong with capaz de todo`s answer, it made sense to me.
Truth is, you were a little insulting and a further truth is that you never know who reports you, so why presume it was a Man U fan?
There are such saddos on here who, i believe, trawl through answers just to report others, they are a bit like traffic wardens but aren`t accountable to anyone.
Don`t get me wrong, i wouldn`t have reported you, in fact i think i have reported only a couple of people in months of being on here. That wasn`t in the football section either, it was very racist stuff from a user who keeps getting suspended.
I also know that some people have multiple accounts, so if you do insult them they can report you twice, (i`m sure you know you need two to report before you get a violation).
How bad is it though really, everyone gets violations for very petty infringements, like chatting or not answering the question, it`s just part of YA, and i`m sure most people feel a sense of injustice but you just have to accept it.
Also, for what it`s worth, i agree with the questioner who put those Man U players in their dream team but i would have had Vidic in there instead of Terry!|||I think there is some accurate critique of the list. However, in comparison to some of the overt racism %26amp; hatred I've seen on some of these pages - the commentator has not (in my opinion) gone anywhere near the levels of vitriol I've witnessed. If anything it's a bit mild. Have a look at the regular "Cricket vs Baseball" or "Rugby vs American football" threads.
The only caveat I'll offer is if the original list had been submitted by a child or young adolescent. The internet can be a wonderful community - but to use this language and scathing tone to someone of a young age could be deemed offensive.|||Hmmmmmmmmmmm .. tunnel vision... pot? kettle?

I TOTALLY agree with unclegray...|||It is petty, I agree with you. If the glory hunters want to turn this thread into a Man U only site it won't happen. We need the contributions from fans of other teams.
My team (Newcastle) is getting a lot of stick, but I don't report contributors for it!|||i can see capaz de todos point but at the same time these manuRE fans just set themselves up for this kind of answer.i totally agree with your answer but i would have included my own list of players.|||It is a correct violation, as you DID insult the questioner and shot him down for having an opinion, basically.|||No extreme pettiness from you then?
Let people have their choice - it's nawt to do with you!|||That didn't answer the question, that was just rude. I don't blame the person who deleted you. And yes, I am a United fan. People on here need to realise the difference between banter and just plain meanness. You should at least have given a different selection of players to back up your opinion. You just slagged off all the United players and ignored everyone who wasn't a United player. Pettiness?

My answer is narrow minded? You just asked if your violation was justified and I said in my opinion it was. I never said I would have reported you, in fact, I wouldn't. As other people have pointed out, how do you even know it was a United fan who reported you? It could just have been someone with an intense disliking for rude people.
You were wondering why it was reported. No offence, but if you begin your answer with 'Holy God that is complete c**p' you will not be respected and people will not take you seriously. Your answer was riddled with sarcasm and you sounded like an immature child. I'm not claiming to be mature here, I most certainly am not, I'm probably one of the younger users in this section, and the fact that I'm female doesn't get me respect either, due to those combined facts I've had to learn to know how to answer properly to be taken seriously by even one other user, so let me tell you: That is not how you answer.
I respect your opinions, but present them politely and you will be more likely to be listened to.|||typical manure fan, sad.|||Soooo, you didn't answer the question, instead just spouted a load of crap at the person who posed it. And your problem is what?
Also, how do you know the person asking was a Utd fan?
If it'd been me i wouldn't have picked a scouser no matter how good they were.
As for the prem, well, half the teams in the champions league Qtr finals are premiership sides, so surely they have one or two half-decent players.|||well if you were to post your dream team, instead of picking holes in the answerers we would have something to go on, personally i don't think torres could play with ronaldo, it would cramp his style, i would play someone like tevez.

Gift giving Guide Lines...?
Thanks.|||Haha Pull the same thing with her, obviously she's trying to be funny or leaving it a mystery on purpose. Do the same thing to her and leave her wondering, it'll be hilarious and cute.
Need help with contextual study for art and design?

GOOD DAY!!!

I re-watched a Little Miss Naughty episode on youtube not too long ago, and she's still an amusing character after all these years.|||Little Miss shy! Thats what they used to call me in high school.. I'm so shy! i;ve been told its a cute thing though so i don't mind it. it's part of me and i like myself as i am =))
I also Love miss whoops! i'm the ultimate klutz!! =D|||Mr Nosey.
The reason I pick this one over all the others is that it is the only one I owned as a child. But I love all of them and read them to my children.|||Mr Tickles FTW!! definately mr tickles, he is the coolest! and also, if anyone has seen the mr men show on tv you will know that he has the funniest voice lol :P he looks so sad when he doesnt get to tickle anyone and gets overjoyed when he does XD hilarity|||Little Miss Sunshine is always bright and happy. Little kids love the Mr. Men show and the books so Little Miss Sunshine promotes happiness in a fun and friendly way towards young children.|||mr scatterbrain, he's so cute! i love his voice on the mr men show, and he's a lot like me.
i like mr bump too, because he's always getting hurt, like me. i feel sorry for him!|||My favourite Mr Men character is Mr Stubborn because it's funny that he comes up with weird ideas about why HE'S correct. I love it when he realises that he's wrong, but he's still stubborn. LOL!|||Little Miss Whoops :P She's the character that resembles me the most. And someone very close to me bought me that book when I was a lot younger.|||I have read all the books throughout my childhood but my favourites are Little Miss Giggles, Little Miss Sunshine and Little Miss Somersault as they are similiar to my personality :)|||Little miss naughty, she reminds me of myself haha. Mischievous, but can't help herself. I also find her incredibly cute :)|||my favourite mr doragba footbal peler
and my favourite miss jojo sengar|||Little Miss Naughty has always been a favourite of mine ... probably because we are so similar.|||Miss DareDevil~my friends will never understand why I get up to the craziest things. I prefer to live life to the full, thank you very much :D|||Mr Clumsy, I am always hurting myself, falling down, bumping into things and so forth.|||Mrs Calamity, always causing accidents. - Alot like myself!|||Mr Bump because he's so unintentionally accident prone :)|||Mr Rush :D|||My favourite was little Miss Sunshine she always made me happy|||None sorry to disappoint you.|||I like them all. Because they are all so cute and funny.|||Mr Clumsy or something... the one with the bandages wrapped around him :)|||Little Miss Chatterbox, she reminds me of me :)|||Miss Whoops, coz shes clumsy like me :)
And i like Mr Stubborn coz hes funny.|||Mr tickles he's cool and can somw1 Please answer my question cause no1 haz thnx|||Little Miss Sunshine. She is so like my daughter.

I want to take this to the local t shirt maker to have the image put onto a t shirt for my son. My email is shizam296@hotmail.com. If you can, please include the whole cover, including the font. Thanks for any help.|||The books are cheap enough - if you don't have one buy one and take it in - that way you can choose which of the 50 or so characters you get made up.

The 'Mr. Men' series of children's books are what he is best known for.|||Yes.

Oh well, good luck finding it hope I helped! xx
What is the script font used to write 'by roger hargreaves' on the front of mr men books ?
It's handwritten. For something similar, I suggest Wendy or CAC Pinafore.
